MANOHARBHAI PATEL COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE
Education endeavors to strengthen the power of reasoning, instill, right judgment and to make an individual intellectually mature to nourish a value systems based on quality and productivity. In view of this, MANOHARBHAI PATEL COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE (MBPCA) started functioning from August 2009 (Approved by MCAER/Office-02/L.No.200/1671, dated 20/08/2009) to cater to the need of rural and socio-agriculturally backward region of extreme eastern part of Maharashtra. The college is running in its own building right from its inception. It is surrounded by sprawling beautiful greenery consisting of agriculture fields (about 30 acres), hillock, hilly terrain, small streams, rivulets, ponds and water bodies. The picturesque is appealing, and eye soothing and providing happiness, clean atmosphere, pollution free condition leading to energetic and healthy situations.
The college possess 100 acres land for conducting research, extension and demonstrations in the discipline of Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant breeding, Plant protection, Soil science, Animal husbandry, Agro-forestry and social forestry etc, through the network of young and energetic, well qualified and experienced Teaching Faculty. The expert in different disciplines was being invited, suiting to occasions. There is an excellent linkage between teacher-students and experts. The field excursion is arrange to keep the students aware and abreast of the challenging time, sensitive and responsive to the phenomenal growth in Science and Technology pertaining to agriculture. The Seminar, Symposium, Exhibition, Kissan-Gosti are conducted regularly for the benefits of students and farmers.
The college encourages the students to actively participate in sports, cultural meet and extracurricular activities. The college offers excellent academic environment with highly motivated and experience faculties that inspire the students to developed knowledge and skill.
The total number of students studying in college are 106 (2009-10:47; 2010-11:59), out of these 31 are girls. They are also projected to expose their hidden capabilities in order to achieve excellency and leadership in the field of their liking.
Objective
To create an academic atmosphere conducive to impart Agricultural Education leading to graduation which ultimately blossom the young boys and girls of Rural and Farming Community, to acquire competence and managerial skill to promote Scientific Agriculture in 21st Century.

Location Of The College
The college is located at a small hamlet of village ‘Hiratola’ in Goregaon Tahsil of District Gondia(Fig.1). It lies at 30km away southern direction from Gondia; and 15 km away towards eastern-southern direction from Goregaon. The peripheral area covers around 55 villages at the radius of 20km in East-West and North-South. Gondia (district HQ) is Historical Town, its name derived from the formative word of GOND community (Gondia Residence of ‘Gond’) mostly tribal and backward people with livelihood of forest-by-product and agriculture.
